Implementation Consultant

The Implementation Consultant is a technical project manager responsible for initial implementation of new client accounts and re-engagement projects for existing clients. High level duties include developing and managing implementation plans, leading all implementation efforts, delegating tasks to support personnel and analysts, and acting as the primary client interface throughout the implementation process.

Positions Duties:

  • Enterprise meeting management implementation project planning and management

  • Delegation of duties to analysts and other supporting stakeholders/SME’s to meet established project requirements and deadlines

  • Client management related to implementation projects

    •  Provide consultation on business processes and best practices as it relates to enterprise meeting management technology

    • Cultivate and maintain excellent peer or advisory relationship with key client contacts in positions that can significantly impact adoption

    • Report on project status, billable hours, and escalate any barriers to project success to clients

  • Map and diagram process requirements for automation configuration

  • System configuration, testing, refining

  • Coordinate and conduct system user training

  • Interface with Product Development team to define and convey client requests for new system features

  • Interface with Sales and Account Management teams to support sales activities where implementation expertise is a focus, and to ensure client objectives and requirements are conveyed throughout the organization during implementation projects

  • Track time and profitability of implementation projects

  • Act as mentor and trainer to newer team members or those in junior level positions

  • On occasion, present at industry educational events or internally within the company as an SME on implementation and related topics

 

Skills & Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree or equivalent applicable experience (6 years minimum)

    • Advanced academic degree or technical training a plus

  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in project or client management roles, preferably in the corporate meetings industry, software or other high-tech industry

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive demeanor are essential

  • Strong, confident, and outgoing telephone presence and solid customer presentation skills

  • Highly articulate, detail-oriented, yet able to simplify complex concepts into layman’s terms for greater understanding

  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain professionalism even in demanding circumstances

  • Ability to disseminate information and organize it for further action, including an ability to discern when a situation needs to be escalated

  • Experience implementing technology or automation, preferably as a member of an organization responsible for management of meetings

  • Solid technological aptitude or the ability to learn technology and its application to the processes associated with corporate meetings and events

    • Experience using meetings & event technology/automation a plus

    • Experience working in a large (Fortune 1000) corporation a plus

    • Broad travel and meetings industry software knowledge including global distribution systems, online booking systems, and expense management systems knowledge is highly desired

    • Experience with web-based, enterprise applications such as Confluence, Zoom, WebEx and Salesforce.com

  • Ability to comprehend and diagram process flows and identify opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency

  • The applicant must be willing to travel approximately 15% of the time

  • Experience/expertise in MS Office productivity tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio

  • Demonstrable aptitude for learning and applying new technologies and applying general and industry specific business knowledge in a fast paced, analytical and team-oriented environment

  • Eagerness to perform a range of activities as they pertain to client on-boarding and support

  • Proficient time manager, possessing the ability to manage multiple projects, responsibilities and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently with strong organization skills, discipline, and persistence
