Job Summary:

Seeking a proven international tax professional to help lead and grow the company’s tax function. The position will report to the Director, based in Milwaukee, WI. The role will focus primarily in three areas of income tax: planning, US GAAP tax accounting, and international tax compliance. In addition, this individual should be familiar with transactional taxes such as VAT and customs duties, as well as basic transfer pricing concepts.

 

The person will have opportunities for exposure to all levels of corporate management, including the Platform Presidents, CFO and CEO.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Tax Planning 

Develop and lead implementation of strategic initiatives to reduce global taxes in a time of changing tax legislation in the U.S. and abroad. Assist in optimizing overseas cash balances. Help develop tax efficient acquisition and divestiture structures & participate in tax due diligence for international acquisitions. Lead efforts to simplify the global legal entity structure in a tax-efficient manner. Help develop and maintain tax-efficient global IP structures. Develop foreign tax credit and foreign source income optimization structures and strategies. Coordinate the U.S. tax implications of global tax planning with the Company's European and Asian Regional Tax Managers. Help structure tax-efficient cross-border business reorganizations and product line transitions.

 

Tax Accounting

Take a lead role in reviewing quarterly and annual international tax provisions based on the guidance of ASC 740 (FAS 109). Review/document FIN 48 positions, APB 23, FAS 52, and other significant tax accounting policies with an international tax impact. Lead the tax aspects of US GAAP purchase accounting process for international acquisitions. Take a lead role in training the Company's non-US finance personnel in the critical concepts of US GAAP tax accounting. Coordinate the US GAAP tax accounting implications of global transactions with the Company's European and Asian Regional Tax Managers.

 

Tax Compliance

Lead further development of the Company's long-term int'l compliance policy and procedures. Lead enhancement of the Company's global tax audit strategy. Review international tax portions of the Company's U.S. tax return such as: Forms1118, 5471, 5472. Assist in reviewing the Company's U.S. tax return disclosures related to international transactions. Assist in reviewing and maintaining the Company's transfer pricing documentation and policy statements. 

 

Skills & Requirements

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. Minimum of 5 years of global taxation experience, including US GAAP tax accounting. Proven ability to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals and at all levels within the organization. Strong analytical skills and computer skills (in particular MS Excel) are essential. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters of Taxation preferred.

Public Accounting Experience; Big 4 preferred

U.S. CPA or equivalent

Proven track record of being able to succeed in a large multi-national corporation environment.

Experience with IFRS tax accounting

Familiarity with SAP
