PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Requires the use of safety glasses and shoes, and hearing protection as needed when in the manufacturing areas.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires a Bachelors degree in engineering and 7 to 10 years of related experience; or a Masters degree in engineering and 3 to 5 years or related experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical periodicals, professional journals, blueprints, schematics, drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, and others employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry, algebra, calculus and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires a valid drivers license.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires the knowledge of and the ability to apply computers and the appropriate software to the solution of engineering problems, the ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools and precision measuring devices, production machinery and CNC equipment, spectrometers, X-ray machines, and a variety of tool room machines, such as shears, saws, turning equipment, etc. Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a calculator, telephone, FAX, photocopier, etc.
