Job Description

Octo Consulting Group is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our growing team in support of a federal customer in Silver Spring, MD.

Responsibilities Include;

  • End-to-end system engineering services 
  • Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Establish and manage systems engineering processes to ensure end-to-end integration and improve service delivery.
  • Perform Systems Engineering in support of development activities including requirements definition, design, integration, test, and transition to operations.
  • Perform Project Management and System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) for current and future systems hardware and software.
  • Develop systems engineering planning documents.
  • Provide support for independent verification and validation test steps and participate in the test readiness review
  • Collaborate with the Developer and coordinate the development, tracking, resolution, and reporting of test defects per test environments
  • Conduct or participate in formal and informal reviews at predetermined points throughout the development life cycle
  • Analyze, manage requirements and maintain requirements status through coordination with the System Integrator/Developer organization
  • Write requirements, use cases, business rules

Skills & Requirements

  • 7+ years experience
  • Certified IAW the DOD 8570.01
  • Extensive knowledge in OCSP Software, SAP, SPSS, MCSE SharePoint, MSFT Specialist (Win 10, SQL)
  • Knowledge of managing government systems

Other Considerations: This position is W-2 only; no Corp-to-Corp or 1099 candidates. US citizenship is mandatory, per contract clearance requirements. Relocation will not be offered. Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
