Sr. Requirements Analyst

Job Description

Octo Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Requirements Analyst to join our growing team in Washington, DC. This individual will be responsible for providing business analysis and requirements development expertise for a Federal client.


  • Leads the requirements efforts by assessing the business needs, defining goals and objectives, and decomposing requirements to successive levels of detail
  • Serves as the project lead responsible for organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of requirements support functions across multiple projects
  • Applies requirements management best practices to facilitate, elicit, and analyze business and system requirements, create conceptual business models
  • Consults with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review tasks and deliverables, ensuring conformance with project task schedules
  • Ultimately responsible for the quality and comprehensiveness of all requirements artifacts, including the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
  • Facilitates requirements elicitation sessions with all levels of personnel, including senior executives
  • Reviews submitted requirements artifacts and provides detailed analyses in a timely manner 
Skills & Requirements
  • MINIMUM of 8 years of post-collegiate professional experience REQUIRED 
  • At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, Acquisition, Requirements, and/or BPR
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent highly preferred 

Desired Skills

  • Detail oriented business analyst professional
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the Requirements Management Life Cycle (RMLC)
  • Experienced developing and reviewing Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Statements of Work (SOW), and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM)
  • Understands conceptual business models and process flows
  • Can explain the characteristics of a “good requirement”


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required


  • Washington, DC (Union Station)

Other Considerations: This position is W-2 only; no Corp-to-Corp or 1099 candidates.  Relocation will not be offered. Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
