Octo Consulting Group is seeking a Business Analyst to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for providing business analysis expertise and support to a Federal client, supporting business process elicitation sessions and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the requirements efforts by assessing the business needs, defining goals and objectives, and decomposing requirements to successive levels of detail
  • Serves as the project lead responsible for organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of requirements support functions across multiple projects
  • Applies requirements management best practices to facilitate, elicit, and analyze business and system requirements, create conceptual business models
  • Define and baseline technical requirements to be included in a Sprint
  • Consults with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review tasks and deliverables, ensuring conformance with project task schedules
  • Coordinate and support project activities for requirements analysis, including user story development, product backlog assessment, and Sprint planning and estimation, and task identification.
  • Ultimately responsible for the quality and comprehensiveness of all requirements artifacts, including the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
  • Facilitates requirements elicitation sessions with all levels of personnel, including senior executives
  • Provide analytical expertise to capture stakeholder business needs, goals and objectives, and features and functions
  • Support business process elicitation sessions and one-on-one interviews
  • Analyze business process flows to develop activity models and detailed requirements
  • Document discussion during facilitated sessions to capture information
  • Leverage all captured information to develop detailed requirements
  • Create and maintain the Business Requirements Document and Requirements Traceability Matrix

 

Skills & Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development processes
  • Seven (7) years of professional experience
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Business Analysis

Desired Skills

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent
  • Lead Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification or equivalent
  • PMP Certification or equivalent

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Clearance: active Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
  • Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time

Work Environment:

  • Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area
  • The noise level in this environment is low to moderate
