The SharePoint Farm Manager will serve as the primary technical authority for deployed SharePoint applications and will be responsible for managing large-scale application deployment, administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support activities in development and staging environments.  The individual will work with other customer functional areas to assure timely resolutions for problems with SharePoint supported applications.  Duties will include:

  • Management of SharePoint Enterprise features
  • Monitoring and correcting SharePoint site collections and permissions
  • Applying SharePoint patches and software updates and migrating SharePoint site collections into the SharePoint farm and/or to new hardware platforms
  • Manage the acceptance and processing of customer SharePoint service requests
  • Manage the fulfillment of SharePoint requests
  • Engage with designated customer support staff when necessary to complete SharePoint service delivery

Skills & Requirements

Minimum Required Skills:

  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 application within the last three years
  • Experience installing, configuring and managing the Microsoft Project Server 2010 application within the last three years
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), SharePoint, or Microsoft Certified
  • SharePoint Applications certified or demonstrated equivalency as a Solutions Developer
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite
  • Knowledge of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) IT Service Management practices and Microsoft infrastructure technologies
  • Understanding of DoD classified and unclassified networks
  • Experience with data center and cloud computing technologies
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Capable of using MS Office tools to prepare documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking and listening)


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred

Security Clearance:

  • Active DOD Secret level clearance required

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
  • Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time

Work Environment:

  • Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area
  • The noise level in this environment is low to moderate
