Job Description

Octo Consulting Group is seeking a Help Desk Support Engineer to provide Tier 1 support (e.g., password resets, system administration, technical support for meetings, system backups) for a Federal Client.

Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in management of Troux (Planview) products using Web Portal, Troux Architect, BIRT Reports, Datamarts
  • Help end users resolve technical workstation issues
  • Troubleshoot basic application issues
  • Automate job responsibilities wherever possible for continued efficiency
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes
  • Develop and maintain customized software products while supporting the organization’s standards and infrastructure, using Microsoft .NET Framework, JAVA, SQL and integrated system components
  • Develop and maintain customized code written in C#, Java and JSP
  • Acquire a working knowledge of HTML5, Bootstrap, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Assists the development team with performance testing and refinement.
  • Excellent with HTML5, Bootstrap, and JavaScript frameworks
  • Utilize AJAX and other JavaScript based technologies  

Skills & Requirements

  • 2-5 Years of Help Desk Experience
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively, both independently and in teams, ensuring timely completion of assignments and meeting established quality standards
  • Experience with the following:
  • Troux Portal / Troux Architect (by Planview)
  • BIRT Reports
  • C#
  • .NET Framework
  • HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Web Development
  • Object-Oriented Design & Development
  • Business and data access logic (server-side)
  • SQL Server database objects (including stored procedures)
  • Web Services
  • Ajax
  • JAVA, Struts

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required

Other Considerations: This position is W-2 only; no Corp-to-Corp or 1099 candidates.  Relocation will not be offered. Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
