Job Description

Octo Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team in Rockville in support of a Federal customer. The Project Manager will support the Program Manager through overall transformation for traditional to an Agile PMO and provide Agile process, implementation and governance oversight. Responsibilities include:

  • Direct project teams on requirements for Agile best practices, documentation and reporting to an Agile PMO
  • Evaluate Agile practices at the project level, for various projects and support process improvement activities and implementation of best practices. 

Skills & Requirements

  • 5 years of Project Management experience
  • Strong working experience and knowledge of Agile processes and best practices, including tools such as Jira
  • Ability to closely interact with stakeholder and provide detailed project status reports to upper management.
  • Experience with working within an Agile PMOs environment highly desired
  • Ability to access agile teams and recommend improvements
  • Strong written and oral communications
  • MS, PMP, CSM, Safe Agilest, experience supporting PMOs at federal agencies (NIH preferred)

Other Considerations: Relocation will not be offered. Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
