Specific Accountabilities:

  • Efficiently prepares and processes fruits and vegetables according to professional culinary specifications for produce department, deli department, meat and seafood department.
  • Compiles, organizes, and files orders from the department prep lists. Ensures that prepared items are properly labeled and appropriately dated.
  • Prepare value added produce items according to specifications and maintain the supply of these items in the produce department on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with Produce Department Manager to ensure that department produce orders are accurate and reflective of store needs.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards for the vegetable prep station during all stages of work shift.
  • Clean and sanitize department including equipment, work/service areas, containers and utensils.
  • Maintain time and temperature food safety standards
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to easily communicate and interact with guests.
  • Individual must be comfortable working in an open kitchen and in front of crowds.
  • Build strong working relationships with guests, vendors and associates.
  • Contribute to organizational effectiveness by offering information and suggestions.
  • Communicate and work with other functional areas of Busch's operations.
  • Adhere to all Busch's policies, practices and procedures.

Skills & Requirements

?Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of Culinary school or equivalent food prep experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Must be available to work between the hours of 11:00am and 7:30pm as well as weekends, must be able to stand for an entire shift.
  • Food safety certification and consistenly demonstrate the ability to work in compliance with state and federal food safety laws.
  • Proficient using scales, measuring tools, and detailing precise measurements. Ensure that production is done using correct measuring devices.
  • Proficient cutting and knife handling skills. Must be familiar with different knife cuts and their sizes.
  • Must be comfortable chopping, preparing, organizing, and packaging large volumes of vegetables.
  • Familiar with classic cooking applications for a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.
  • Ability to work in a timely manner and consistently meet deadlines for orders.
  • Proficient cleaning abilities to meet sanitation and visual standards.
  • Proficient communication skills, including written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in excel, word and email. Able to learn and use a variety of proprietary applications and technology
