Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) is the fastest growing practice in the Chicago area dedicated to providing comprehensive fertility services. Our supportive and personalized approach to fertility care has led us to become one of the largest providers of fertility services in the United States. 

 

Due to our growth, FCI is looking for a full-time Advanced Practice Nurse to join our Center for Collaborative Reproduction nursing team. This full-time position is position located at 900 North Kingsbury, Chicago, Illinois.  The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) serves as the primary clinical resource and advocate for patients within the APN Scope of Practice.  The APN will work in the Third Party or Center or Collaborative Reproduction (CCR).  

This position will promote patients’ reproductive health in egg donor recruitment and screening, assistance matching recipients with egg donors and intended parent(s) seeking third party services (i.e. sperm donor, egg donor, gestational carrier and embryo donation).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts comprehensive appraisals of third party patients' health status by taking health histories and performing physical examinations in specialty area.
  • Provides primary prevention strategies and management of stable health problems.
  • Prescribes medications, diet, supplies, or medication according to clinical privileges.
  • Orders and follows-up appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures specified in clinical privileges.
  • Teaches and counsels patients and families in medical conditions, plan of care, anticipated outcomes, and the use of prescribed treatments and drugs.
  • Documents in the medical record all care provided and/or procedures performed for which the Licensed Mid-Level Provider is responsible.
  • Clinical coverage and clinical day-to-day operations of the FCI in house egg donor program and CCR department (cross trained).
  • Knowledge/ expertise of the FDA tissue regulation for HCT/Ps & GTP.
  • Assist with the FDA chart audits and FDA inspections at FCI River North and FCI Highland Park.
  • Acts as clinical liaison between CCR Coordinators and In-house Donor Program.
  • Assist with the team clinical case conflicts/ coordination, so that problems are resolved constructively/ consistently for continued patient care.
  • Other clinical duties and disciplines as appropriate and/ or assigned by the CCR Medical Director and/ or CCR management.
  • Refers to other disciplines as appropriate.

 

Skills & Requirements
Education/ Experience Requirements:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing: Must hold a Master’s degree from an approved OB/GYN or women’s health nurse practitioner program.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois/Current license as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APN Board/Written collaborative agreement with a collaborating physician and once licensed may apply for a mid-level practitioner controlled substance license and DEA number.
  • IVF/fertility experience and/ or background in women health: Third Party Reproduction experience preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • High level of customer service essential and must be a self-starter
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Ability to access, input, and retrieves information from a computer.
  • Ability to organize and present information (Power Point and Webinar Presentations)
  • Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (i.e, computer, phone, fax, and copier).
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to all stressful situations.
  • Ability to think outside the box, and strive for solutions to complex third party cases.
