Job Description

Access Community Health Centers (Access), a federally qualified health care center, located in Madison, WI offers a 12-month Behavioral Health Consultant Post-Doc Fellow (BHC Fellow) Program.  This is a great opportunity to receive advanced training and work experience in the Primary Care Behavioral Health Model, working as a Behavioral Health Consultant.   Interested candidates are encouraged to review http://primarycareshrink.com/ for more information on the Primary Care Behavioral Health model of care.        

Duties or skills to be acquired:

BHC Fellows will develop strong psychopharmacology skills, health behavior change skills and be exposed to the breadth of mental health issues presenting in primary care.  In addition, fellows are exposed to practice-based research (staff have ongoing projects), and have rotations with the consulting psychiatry program, a program for managing addictions in primary care, and care management (chronic disease management).   Fellows will be under the supervision of a team of experienced primary care psychologists and licensed clinical social workers.

Hours:

This full time position works five days a week (Monday-Friday) in a primary care setting for one year (not APPIC-approved).

  • Joyce & Marshall Edman Clinic:  South Park Street
  • Wingra Family Health Center: South Park Street

Skills & Requirements

Required:

 A minimum of PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology

Preferred:

Fluency in English and Spanish

Working with diverse patient populations
