Forensic Psychologists are encouraged to consider an available full-time position with Liberty Healthcare.

Liberty Healthcare operates a specialized forensic mental health program within the West Valley Detention Center – a county jail operated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff.

This program provides high quality assessment and treatment services to adults who are justice involved, experiencing mental illness, and deemed incompetent to stand trial.

As a Forensic Psychologist with Liberty’s jail based competency treatment program, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting mental status examinations and formulating diagnoses
  • Evaluating patients for competency to stand trial
  • Writing comprehensive reports
  • Occasionally providing court testimony
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists, nurses, mental health clinicians and ancillary professionals
  • Actively participating in staff meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning
  • Performing risk assessments and crisis management assistance

This is a hybrid position which will allow you to work in part remotely from your home office and require you to work in part onsite at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

You may work a compressed four-day workweek or a traditional five-day workweek.  

As a full-time employee of Liberty Healthcare, you can expect:

  • Starting salary range of $110,000 to $125,000 (depending on qualifications)

Skills & Requirements

You are a good fit for this position if you are licensed professionally in California as a Psychologist and have training and/or experience evaluating and treating forensic patients.
