Job Description

Due to anticipated organizational growth, Liberty Healthcare seeks qualified candidates for a potential new part-time Medical Director position.

This is a virtual administrative role which does not involve direct patient care. This position offers a flexible schedule and 20-hour workweek.

As Liberty Healthcare’s Medical Director, you will serve as an internal medical consultant to our program staff and leadership team.  You will support a statewide program which will help a significant number of children, youth, and families receive necessary long term services and supports so they may live as independently as possible in the community.

This goals of this program include:

  • Providing Employment and Community First (ECF) CHOICES training and technical assistance
  • Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) processes
  • Medical or Level of Care (LOC) eligibility assessment and appeals for Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS)
  • Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) and Inventory for Client and Agency (ICAP) assessments

As Liberty Healthcare’s Medical Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the launch a statewide assessment program in Tennessee
  • Providing medical consultation and training to program staff and leadership
  • Medical oversight of PASRR, LOC, Katie Beckett, and other assessments which will be administered by nurses and behavioral health professionals
  • Participating in various quality control / quality assurance activities and initiatives
  • Forming collaborative and productive relationships with a diverse range of individuals
  • Ensuring services are rooted in best practices and meet or exceed quality standards
  • Managing services with a focus on the best interests of children, youth and families

Skills & Requirements

You are a good fit for this position if you possess the following:

  • Licensure in Tennessee as a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or other medical specialty
  • Experience providing medical care to people who are living with physical disabilities, mental illness, and developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with Long Term Services and Supports, Level of Care eligibility assessments, and Katie Beckett waiver eligibility
  • Experience in a similar administrative or consultative medical role
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
  • Tennessee residency
