Psychiatrists who are interested in telepsychiatry are encouraged to consider a unique practice opportunity with Liberty Healthcare.

Due continued program growth and an increased demand for services, multiple newly-created telepsychiatry positions are available with Liberty Healthcare serving the South Carolina Department of Mental Health’s statewide telepsychiatry outreach program.

This is an award-winning and nationally-recognized telepsychiatry program which provides psychiatric consultation to patients and attending physicians at hospital emergency departments throughout South Carolina.

The Psychiatrists who support this program work highly flexible schedules:

  • Full-time, part-time or occasional moonlighting
  • Non-traditional schedules - including evenings, nights and weekends
  • Shifts of varying duration (4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 16 hours)

Most Psychiatrists work at one of our established office locations in Charleston, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, Aiken (near Augusta, GA), Greenville, Spartanburg, Rock Hill (near Charlotte, NC) and Columbia, South Carolina.  Psychiatrists who work evenings, nights and weekends may work from home. Sorry, Psychiatrists may not provide telepsychiatry services to this program from outside South Carolina.

Skills & Requirements

To qualify, Psychiatrists must be Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology - or anticipating Board Certification within the next year. An active South Carolina medical license is required.
