GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

The Information Security Analyst is responsible for the protection of information assets.  An Information Security Analyst utilizes tools and data to detect, report, and mitigate information security risks.  The role will provide regular reports to management that demonstrate the performance of the Information Security program and will also suggest, maintain and implement information security program features.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of Information Security controls, review methods, and common frameworks.
  • Ability to discover, retrieve, manage, analyze and report on security event data.  Automation scripting with common languages strongly encouraged. (ex. VBS, Python, Perl)
  • Mastery of common data visualization tools such as MS Excel or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database concepts strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to implement and maintain security tools and processes.  Includes antivirus packages, SIEM providers, network protections, access controls and central logging.
  • Understand common networking concepts for TCP/IP to include switching, routing, firewalls, and VLANs.
  • Work independently in small team environment and be self-motivated.
  • Communicate technical data points in aggregate with explanation of trend or impact analysis
  • Identify and correlate security events to detect compromise.
  • Install and use security technology, such as intrusion detection, event management, and data protection
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization from analysts to senior executives as well as external vendors.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities, anticipate problems as well as analyze and initiate activities.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Project Duties

Every team member takes on various roles in project activities. Projects can vary from simple department level implementations to enterprise wide high-impact solutions. Each member of the Information Security team is expected to provide knowledge and capabilities relevant to project needs.

The most frequent role is as a project team member assigned tasks ranging from review of security controls to implementation duties requiring technical expertise. When the Information Security department owns a project, team members take on more duties such as identification of tasks, management of vendors, and process implementation.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time.*

Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach, or stand for extended periods of time.* Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.* Must be able to use office productivity equipment such as a printer, copy machine, laminator, etc.*

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position operates under normal office conditions and is required to travel between CommunityAmerica facilities or other locations as needed. Full-time hours required, with occasional weekend and after hours work that may be required.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in an information security related role, such as security analyst or security auditor.
  • Minimum two year experience conducting security control assessments or audits
  • Professional certification related to information security or related college degree is highly preferred.
  • Must pass post offer drug screen and background verification (may not apply to current employees).
