Media Communications Intern

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a part-time or full-time unpaid summer Media Communications Intern to join us in our Washington, DC or home office.  As the Media Communications Intern, you are a vital part of the Media & Advocacy Communications team. In this role, you will report to the Director of Media Relations and will be tasked with assisting the Media Specialists, attending media training sessions with attorneys and clients, and having the opportunity to write pitches. The intern will also assist in other public relations projects and events. This internship provides a great introduction to the public relations world for someone who is considering exploring a career in public relations, policy, or law.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Attend media training sessions with attorneys and clients
  • Draft media pitches
  • Track media interviews; compile media reports
  • Create Media Kits
  • Build Press Lists
  • Monitor media inbox
  • Assist with scheduling media meetings and interviews
  • Assist with getting approval on press statements

Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential):

You will be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned.

Education and/or experience:

  • Current college student interested in journalism, media, or communications work
  • Must receive college credit for internship
