Job Summary: Facilitate the design and engineering of structural systems for building structures and facilities from pre-schematic phase through construction closeout with limited direction from senior technical staff.
Responsibilities:
- -Determine project design decisions based on client and project requirements, such as load requirements, governing codes, architectural constraints, operational constraints, fabrication and erection requirements.
- -Apply advanced theoretical knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles and concepts.
- -Oversee work of junior engineers, designers and/or drafters in production of structural construction documents including drawings, specifications, bidding, and construction administration for projects.
- -Develop technical skills of junior staff with empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in the technical betterment of colleagues.
- -Perform structural calculations by applying appropriate system concepts and layouts.
- -Review RFI’s, submittals, and other construction related documents.
- -Manage multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects with minimal supervision.
- -Participate in developing client proposals including preparing scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- -Maintain close relationship with client during project development, execution, and completion.
- -Participate in client and design team meetings as well as plan review and approval processes.
- -Pursue business development efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
- -5+ years of related experience
- -Michigan PE license
- -BS degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET/EAC accredited program
- -Familiarity with building codes, AISC Design Manual
- -Knowledge of some or all: AutoCAD, Tekla, RISA, RAM, Revit, Excel, MathCAD, SAP2000
- -Ability to work on multiple tasks with little direct supervision in a fast paced environment
- -Effective oral and written communication skills
- -Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

- -Michigan SE license
- -MS degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET/EAC accredited program
