Job Description

Role purpose

Provide field-based medical support. Engage in scientific exchange with targeted Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Key Decision Makers (KDMs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) consistent with Medical Affairs and Therapeutic Brand Teams objectives. Respond to requests for medical, scientific and label information. Develop and maintain expert scientific knowledge on disease areas, product options in the treatment of disease areas as well as on available scientific and clinical data on product profiles in this field. Report Drug Safety and/or Product Quality identified in the field during the expert/KOL interaction.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Identifying and engaging key customers with scientific, clinical and medical expertise and business knowledge as well as the treatment of disease areas.
  • Developing peer-level relationships with national and regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Key Decision Makers (KDMs) and researchers consistent with Scientific and Medical Affairs strategy and objectives.
  • Enhancing the value and appropriate compliant use of the product/drug.
  • Analyzing and reporting activities of key competitors in the field.
  • Supporting KOL speaker trainings of the data and science behind the product/drug, and treatment of the disease areas.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Responding to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of the product/drug.
  • Delivering appropriate clinical and scientific information that clinically supports and differentiates the product/drug.
  • Assisting in the training of staff in disease areas.
  • Executing the regional / local medical brand strategy for the product/drug.
  • Attending national, regional and local conferences / congresses and medical meetings.
  • Act in compliance within the overall company quality principles, values, and applicable policies including written procedures.

 

Skills & Requirements

Professional experience and education

  • Scientific or medical university degree or post graduate
  • Pharmacy degree, NP, RN, MD or PhD desirable
  • Established track record of basic or clinical research, preferably in Pain
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the pharmaceutical industry, preferable in Pain

Specific skills & knowledge

  • Excellent understanding of clinical practice, guidelines and existing standards in Pain
  • Preferably knowledgeable about biological pathways of Pain and available therapies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable compliance, legal & regulatory requirements
  • Thorough medical and scientific acumen
  • Fluency in Business and Scientific English
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Country
  • Full US driving license
