As a Manager, Quality Assurance you will lead Quality Assurance efforts for Advicent's new product development function. You will be responsible for ensuring that software products are created and delivered to customers with the highest possible level of quality through various software verification and validation activities.

What you’re accountable for

  • Manage Quality Assurance team, consisting of interactive Quality Assurance Analysts and a team of Software Developers in Test.
  • Establish and compel adherence to quality assurance best practices and standards.
  • Lead staff of Quality Assurance Analysts to maintain highest level of quality standards.
  • Active participant in project planning and project resourcing.
  • Provide input into process and incorporate testing industry best practices into the existing process model.
  • Plan, assign, and manage the daily activities of direct reports supporting the ongoing product releases.
  • Review product requirements and user stories for testing purposes. Identify risks or design flaws and provide solutions to develop and implement.
  • Monitor and document employee performance results including quality, progress towards individual and team goals, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Identify training needs within the team and coordinate additional training as required to meet service expectations.
  • Design, write and execute functional, regression and performance tests for software products.
  • Document, communicate and facilitate correction of defects discovered during the product lifecycle, working with the developers and product managers to ensure appropriate follow through to resolution.
  • Work with technical QA Analysts in designing API, functional and regression test cases to be automated.
  • Act as a member of an agile software development team and provide input on requirements, design, and application quality.

What skills are required

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems technology or computer science, and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic understanding of web-based software application design and programming
  • Understanding of quality assurance concepts, best practices, and methodology
  • Hands-on experience in testing web-based software applications
  • Familiarity with writing basic SQL queries
  • Occasional availability for after-hours or weekend production rollouts will be required

Other preferred skills

  • Familiarity with software test automation and/or performance testing tools
  • Experience in an agile software development environment
  • Familiarity with financial planning concepts
