Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented part-time bookkeeper to join our team. As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and assisting with financial reporting. This position offers flexible working hours and an opportunity to contribute to the financial stability and success of our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
  • Track and manage expenses, including reviewing receipts, categorizing expenses, and preparing expense reports.
  • Assist with payroll processing, including verifying timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring accurate deductions and withholdings.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure effective financial planning.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate financial data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting principles, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial records and sensitive information.

Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
    • Proficiency in using bookkeeping software and tools, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain organized financial records.
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
    • Solid knowledge of MS Excel or other spreadsheet software.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to team members.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
    • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
    • Flexibility to work part-time hours and adapt to changing priorities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    • Professional certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Public Bookkeeper).
    • Experience with nonprofit organizations or small businesses.
