We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented part-time bookkeeper to join our team. As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and assisting with financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Track and manage expenses, including reviewing receipts, categorizing expenses, and preparing expense reports.
- Assist with payroll processing, including verifying timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring accurate deductions and withholdings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure effective financial planning.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate financial data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting principles, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial records and sensitive information.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in using bookkeeping software and tools, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain organized financial records.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Solid knowledge of MS Excel or other spreadsheet software.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to team members.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Public Bookkeeper).
- Experience with nonprofit organizations or small businesses.
