Job Description


The Event Production Manager is responsible for working independently to plan and produce various event types booked by the sales department, utilizing a variety of established company processes, techniques and guidelines. The Event Production Manager should maintain positive client relationships, thus promoting future business for Pier Sixty, LLC. S/he must work closely with the Executive Director of Sales/GM in promoting the Company’s culture, mission and philosophy.


-          A minimum of three years’ experience in food & beverage / restaurant experience, preferably in                      Banquets, Catering Services, and/or Convention Services preferred.  A minimum of one-year                          supervisory experience is strongly preferred. 

-          Must have good food and beverage knowledge, and a high level of Banquet Service experience.  

-          Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, and coordinate all aspects of an event

-          Must have the ability to work independently, problem solve, trouble shoot, effectively prioritize work,                and accurately meet deadlines.

-          Ability to proactively make independent decisions.

-          Must be thorough, detailed and have demonstrated organizational skills.

-          Must be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Must be                  able to learn and utilize company software programs including but not limited to Delphi, Meeting                    Matrix.

-          Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors.

-          Able to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels.

-          Ability to train and develop staff, offering input on performance of associates in adjacent                                    departments.

-          Drive additional revenue through proven upsell techniques with ability to meet upsell goals.

Skills & Requirements

  1. Work independently as the primary liaison between Pier Sixty, LLC and their clients to successfully plan, produce and execute event bookings at Pier Sixty, The Lighthouse and Current.
  2. Ability to independently negotiate and make decisions on changes to menu pricing and enhance menus and arrangements over and above those agreed to in the sales contract.
  3. Ability to drive additional revenue through proven upsell techniques.
  4. Create menu proposals and assist in the menu selection process with client. 
  5. Schedule and manage menu tastings as required and coordinate with culinary department throughout the menu selection process to ensure proper menu selection.      
  6. Conduct event vendor production walk-throughs, conference calls and meetings regarding the planning of the event as appropriate.
  7. Make key decisions on an ongoing basis that impact the use of the event spaces, equipment and other company resources.
  8. Produce clear and concise Banquet Event Orders that clearly communicate the requirements for each event. Maintain ongoing communication with the operations teams relating to event changes as appropriate.
  9. Design floor plans for event set-ups and make suggestions to planners on the optimal use of the space at each venue.
  10. Manage existing equipment inventory and communicate to client availability and appropriate usage.
  11. Responsible for ordering/requesting all necessary special equipment for the event.
  12. Maintain timely, clear and concise communication of all pertinent event information to each department relating to special client concessions, needs, requests & concerns.
  13. Responsible for clearly communicating and distributing all appropriate documentation and information pertaining for events in a timely and appropriate fashion.
  14. Work directly with client and production team to devise a workable and mutually agreed upon event timeline that will insure a successful event for both the client and Pier Sixty, LLC. 
  15. Coordinate all vendor deliveries, load-ins and set up to ensure they conform to our operational guidelines.
  16. Responsible for Post Event Follow Up with client, ensuring final invoice is accurate and appropriate information is communicated to accounting.   
  17. Responsible for collecting deposits and payments as per our Accounting procedures.
  18. Perform all reasonable requests by the management team.
  19. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  20. Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
  21. Follow proper sign in and out procedure for keys.
  22. Know and follow all Pier Sixty, LLC and property emergency and safety procedures.
