Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare café in anticipation of day’s business including stocking of work areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Maintain par and inventory levels of supplies including food, beverage and equipment.
  • Insure quality of food and beverage being ordered stocked and sold with Food and Beverage Manager and staff.
  • Handle cash and maintain cash and bank control procedures.
  • Insure work areas are free from trash and maintained
  • Take food and beverage orders and deliver product to customers
  • Insure quality of food and beverage being ordered, stocked and sold with Café Manager
  • Insure seating area is maintained and communicate maintenance needs accordingly.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve situations.
  • Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues.
  • Perform all reasonable requests by the management team.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
  • Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys.

 

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum one year counter / café experience with customer contact.
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School or any other combination of education training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • NYC Food Handlers Certification preferred
  • Ability to operate a POS system
  • Ability to work in stressful, high- pressure situations.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve including anticipating, preventing, identifying problems.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Knowledge of quality service standards and applicable laws.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations and operation of equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors if necessary.
  • Able to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels.
  • Exemplary customer service skills with a great attitude.
  • The ability to lift and move 15 lbs and various items successfully.
