Pier Sixty LLC is a prestigious catering company well-known for its outstanding cuisine and event management, executing weddings, corporate events, galas and social functions with superb food, impeccable service, and unmistakable flair, our venue is located NYC and can accommodate up to 2,400 guests. Pier Sixty LLC is a division of Abigail Kirsch and is located at Chelsea Piers in NYC.

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing as well as performing repair and preventive maintenance at both Pier Sixty and the Lighthouse and ensuring the facility is in keeping with Abigail Kirsch's high standards of quality.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. General repair and maintenance of the facility and equipment within.
2. Perform a daily walk through of facility with the Director of Engineering to determine problem areas and ensure preventive maintenance is performed.
3. Work on detailed task lists and work order forms.
4. Paint walls, woodwork, exterior touch up, wood paneling touch up and doors.
5. Make sure all paint is kept clean and neat and proper inventory levels are maintained.
6. Carpentry repairs of walls, furniture, woodwork and special projects as are assigned.
7. Keep an inventory of light bulbs while checking and changing light bulbs daily.
8. Work on any plumbing issues that might arise: i.e.- clogged drains, flooding, leaks, etc.
9. Ensure plumbing supplies are kept neat and orderly
10. Assist with hanging banners at clients' request.
11. Work with various outside contractors on maintenance/ repair/ replacement of carpet, windows, millwork, furniture, lumber, etc. which includes pricing jobs, scheduling appointments, and supervising work.
12. Ensure all windows are clean before each event.
13. Assist other departments when necessary.

Skills & Requirements

Minimum five years experience in Engineering / Preventative Maintenance, with at least two years as a supervisor in a hotel, catering venue, or apartment complex is required.
* Experience and knowledge of painting, window cleaning is required.
* Knowledge and ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, and levels is required.
* Extensive knowledge of carpentry, cabinet making, plumbing, sheetrocking, plastering and electrical is required.
* Ability to maintain a neat, organized and safe working environment is required.
* Ability to oversee a staff of 5 in the completion of projects is required.
* Prior experience with the training of staff is preferred.
* Excellent attention to detail skills are required.
* Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors if necessary is required.
* Ability to multi-task and delegate assignments is required.
*Ability to deal with internal and external customers, some who may require extreme levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to diffuse anger, gather information and resolve problems, is required.
*Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, is required.
*Ability to lift, bend, push and pull equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation, is required.
