Job Description

Job Summary: To repair and perform preventive maintenance of both Pier Sixty and the Lighthouse and insure facility is in keeping with Pier Sixty’s high standards of quality.

Essential Job Functions:

  • PM Rooms / PM Public Space / Calls / Grounds / Lights / Sheet Rock / Tile / Masonry / Carpentry / Wallpaper / minor Plumbing and Electrical, etc.
  • Follow all policies and procedures laid out in the Engineering SOP manual.
  • Perform duties as outlined on daily Workload assignments.
  • Maintain a neat, clean work area.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with the Director of Engineering, Engineering Supervisor, Department Heads, and other associates both in and outside of the department.
  • Assume various roles within the Engineering department in the absence of associates.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor and/ or Director of Engineering.
  • Travel, as necessary, to different properties/venues.
  • Perform all reasonable requests by the management team.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
  • Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys.
  • Know and follow all Pier Sixty emergency and safety procedures.

  • Maintain professional appearance and behavior when in contact with guests and associates.
  • Follow Policies and Procedures in training manuals and associate handbook.

Regular attendance in conformance with the company standards, which may be established by Piers Sixty from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 18 months experience of one year experience in a related field or technical school.
  • Minimum of 12 months hands on experience in one or more of the building trades, i.e. Sheet Rock, Tile, Carpentry, Wallpaper, minor Plumbing and Electrical, etc.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, organized and safe working environment.
  • Task oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work on a large team to get projects completed.
  • Ability to look at every detail of projects to make sure they meet Pier Sixty /  Abigail Kirsch standards.
  • Working knowledge of all legal issues in compliance with EPA / OSHA
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors if necessary.
  • Able to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels.
