USHG 2022 Summer Internship Program

Background:

At Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), we offer a comprehensive summer internship program for students and graduates looking to learn more about the overall business and restaurant operations within the hospitality industry. The 2022 Summer Internship Program will be offered in the following restaurants and departments:

  • Restaurants: Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Cafe, The Modern, Marta, Porchlight, Ci Siamo, New York Marriott Marquis, Manhatta, Blue Smoke, Daily Provisions
  • Departments: Operations, Marketing, People, Technology, Legal, Finance, Admin, Union Square Events

 What to Expect:

The 2022 Summer Internship Program is designed to provide exposure to all facets of restaurant operations and/or a specific department within USHG.  The goal is that the interns learn the importance of every role in running a successful business operation. A summer with USHG will provide a solid foundation of knowledge about the hospitality industry and leave you feeling well informed to make decisions about where your path might lead on your journey to a career in hospitality. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, each intern will be expected to share their overall internship experience at a final roundtable with leaders of USHG. There will also be a capstone project that will be assigned and presented towards the end of the program.

Duration, Requirements and Opportunities:

The USHG Internship Program begins on June 6th and ends on August 12th. Interns are required to be available through the duration of the program, attend all scheduled events, and commit to 32 - 40 hours per week. Please note that schedules may include nights and weekends. Interns will be exposed to a variety of events throughout the program to provide exposure to different aspects of our business and allow for networking opportunities with both fellow interns and current USHG employees.

Additional Information:

  •  Pay: All of our internships are paid positions.
  • Perks: Interns will have the chance to work with the best leaders in the industry while learning, creating meaningful and lasting connections and having fun.You will be a part of the USHG’s culture of Enlightened Hospitality and have access to our most beloved restaurants, cafes and bars which offer outstanding food delivered with our signature warmth and hospitality.
  • Housing: USHG partners with Educational Housing Services (EHS), a not-for-profit organization that provides safe, convenient housing services to thousands of students and interns. Those chosen for the program can log onto http://www.studenthousing.org/and/ushg, complete the form, and learn all about the housing options they provide to students. Please note that EHS is not affiliated with USHG, and any housing expense will be at the intern’s own cost. Another affordable and convenient option is through New York University (NYU).
