POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The CAD Designer opportunity and objective is to continuously create and develop unique prints and patterns that are brand appropriate while being modern and trend right and will elevate the brand and set it apart from the other brands. In addition, the print and pattern should work together across all classifications as an imaginative, cohesive statement that reinforces the seasonal mood and direction. The designer will be a part of a fun, energetic, and highly creative team that will play an integral role in the White House½Black Market.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all print and pattern development on CAD system which includes working from original art, vintage art, creating art and color combinations related to seasonal color palette and direction.
- Maintain an acute awareness of fashion trends and direction as it relates to print, pattern and fabrics, and how it relates to silhouette.
- Work with CAD team to research and put together seasonal and monthly Print Mood Boards and concepts.
- Work with Director and Design team to research and put together seasonal mood boards and concepts.
- Work with individual designers to create and develop pattern work specific to their areas in keeping with the approved seasonal mood and direction.
- Coordinate and manage workload as it relates to driving the T&A.
- Execute key creative elements required for pattern packages to go to vendors which include artwork, pattern repeat, color separations, embellishment detail and direction, and fabric and finishing information.
- Communicate on a daily basis with Sr. CAD Designer, Manager, Director, Designers, key Merchants and key Production team members as it relates to the T&A and the design and execution of the product.
- Assist other team members when workload is heavy within the department.
- Travel: Bi-annual travel to Seasonal Print and Pattern shows in New York (i.e., Directions) and to do pattern research with original art and vintage pattern resources. Bi-annual travel for store visits and Miami shopping.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-Year College Degree Preferred
- 5+ years of experience in retail print and pattern CAD design, preferred
- Excellent taste level and color sense suitable for designers like Dolce & Gabanna, Michael Kors, Robert Cavalli, Donna Karan, etc.
- Love for creating print and pattern that defines a brand
- Complete knowledge of bulk production requirements and restrictions
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Highly proficient Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator programs, and literate in Microsoft Office. NedGraphics, preferred
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, creative problem solver
- Management and leadership skills
