Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for supporting the data, analysis and information needs of the direct marketing department for one of three brands (Chico’s, SOMA, White House | Black Market) including: Researching customer acquisition, retention and loyalty/development efforts and campaigns. Uncovering opportunities and insights derived from customer data analysis. Developing our understanding of customer response to marketing campaigns over time, across different channels, using different timing, frequency and cadence. Uncovering WHAT happed, WHY it happened and WHAT we do next. This role, more than any other, must leverage statistics and modeling to help us forecast the future impact of marketing.      
 
 
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform research analysis on historical data and discover trends and opportunities across all categories.
  • Strong skills in developing reports using SAS and other marketing analytic tools.
  • Develop reporting and tracking of the overall number, frequency, channel and timing of contacts to each customer. Design testing to optimize the customer contact strategy over time.
  • Be the owner of accurate control, A/B and holdout testing for all direct marketing and a range of mass marketing and store-based event marketing campaigns.
  • Identify and test targeting strategies. Develop campaign testing matrices and coding strategies to support campaign and analysis objectives.
  • Provide expertise on data validity and a keen eye regarding the quality of report and list production.
  • Ability to evaluate and design regression, chaid and other models as well as the scoring methods used to identify the best customers for campaigns.
  • Ability to develop new measures that combine datasets and generate new insights.
  • Assist business/marketing managers in answering key business questions by translating business speak into analytic briefs that document what will be done and how we will read/leverage the findings.
  • Manage the analytic project list and manage team and manager expectations.
  • Query the database to support analysis to uncover customer profiles, segmentations, behaviors and merchandise trends across customer groups.
  • Assist in the development and forecasting of the master circulation plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Requires 5+ years of database marketing experience preferably in a multi-channel retail environment
·         Proficiency with campaign management tools
·         Strong skills using base SAS, direct SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide/Miner and SQL coding is a must
·         Excellent problem solving skills with a wide range of creativity and latitude to dig info information and derive a new insight. This is detective work.
·         Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy of data.
·         Strong communication skills, verbal and written, ability to make complex analytics into simple answers.
·         Expertise in customer databases and their data structure (tables, fields, etc.)
·         Ability to work in a team environment as well as an individual contributor
