POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Equipment Maintenance Technician II is responsible for preventative maintenance tasks, equipment repairs and facilities maintenance at Chico’s Distribution Center both interior an exterior to include: painting, landscape work, plumbing, electrical, and other duties assigned by management.   

 

FUNCTION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       Determines extent of repairs needed; requests assistance from Level III Technician for any problems beyond area of knowledge or expertise. 

2.       Performs routine electrical/mechanical repairs or installation such as running conduit, replacing receptacles, welding and fabrication etc.

3.       Performs routine preventative maintenance tasks such as adjusting conveyor chains, adding oil to drives, changing belts, filling equipment lubricators etc.

4.       Performs non-routine maintenance repairs on equipment such as motor brake adjustment, coupling alignment checks and drive train adjustments. Replenish janitorial and maintenance supplies and maintain acceptable level of supplies inventory.

5.       Inspects, adjusts and makes minor repairs to all building systems as required.

6.       Troubleshoots and repairs production lines to include replacement of micro-switches, sequencing correction on conveyors, restoration of power outages etc.

7.       Performs routine electrical/mechanical repairs or installation such as running conduit, replacing receptacles, welding and fabrication etc. 

8.       Assists Level III Technician with special projects and/or repairs.

9.       Performs routine building maintenance such as painting walls, repair roof leaks, plumbing, repair door locks and other building related maintenance. Set up offices and assist with moving furniture, hanging fixtures, etc.

10.   Maintains cleanliness of plant equipment and maintenance areas.

11.   Monitors grounds for trash and assist housekeeping with trash removal and other duties as required.

12.   Restocks paper stations at copiers and facsimile machines.

13.   Drives company vehicle for various reasons as required.

14.   Safely operates a variety of hand and power tools to perform skilled maintenance tasks.

15.   Follows detailed instructions from skilled maintenance technician or written format.

 

Due to the nature of potential equipment and facilities related breakdowns, fluctuations of products and manufacturing schedules and the urgency of new equipment installations, the Maintenance Department’s working hours must be flexible and the individual must be available for scheduled overtime, and, at times, emergency overtime.  Breaks and lunch times may also be flexible depending on emergency or high priority projects and assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.       High School Diploma or GED

2.       1-2 years technical schooling or equivalent experience of 3-5 years in maintenance environment.  Basic understanding of PLC and conveyor systems.  Forklift, minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs experience.

3.       Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.

4.       Ability to read blue prints and electrical drawings.

5.       Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks.

6.       Thorough knowledge of power and hand tools, equipment and aptitude for understanding mechanical systems with some formal training or education.

7.       Have a safe driving record to meet auto insurance coverage requirements.
