JOB SUMMARY:
Interface with business partners in order to develop financial analyses and forecasts of company and / or business unit performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Assist with development and coordination of performance reporting tools and templates and the annual operating plan. Consolidate finance information and forecasts into business unit performance projections. Develop proficiency on company information tools, such as Hyperion Planning, Smartlook, and SLIM.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Qualified candidates must possess the ability to:
- Provide variance analysis for assigned business areas on a monthly basis. Use existing financial reporting tools for updating and querying information. This analysis will include sales, expense, and product information
- Develop models and analytical tools to improve company understanding of performance and to automate analytical and forecasting processes
- Integrate analyses into regular forecasts of company operating results, including, but not limited to sales, expense items, and inventory. Consolidate these forecasts into division level performance forecasts for use by senior management
- Provide analytical support as needed to company executives
- Provide documentation to developed and developing finance department processes, including, but not limited to, forecast models, planning models, management reporting templates, and company financial reporting tools.
- Supports development of business and strategic plans by researching and analyzing industry, competitor, and company trends
- Supports the real estate approval process by maintaining the detailed financial model used to assess new sites. Completes detailed operational analysis to continue to improve accuracy of projections. When appropriate, revises the model to incorporate changes required in the assessment of new sites.
- Works with the Director to develop detailed financial models assessing the financial viability of new opportunities. Includes the development of Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and the calculation of Return on Invested Capital.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate business degree required, MBA preferred
- 3-5 years experience in financial analysis, preferably in a retail environment
- Excellent PC skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
