Union Square Events is seeking a

Kitchen Manager

 to join their Sports & Entertainment team!

 

Union Square Events is looking for a Kitchen Manager who will oversee the daily production of the Union Square Event brands within the Delta In-seat kitchen at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. This position is directly responsible for ensuring excellent service and hospitality for guests during each event. This position reports into and works with the General Manager of Citi Field to liaise between Aramark and external partners. These are seasonal, high-volume food service positions and our ideal candidate is not only enthusiastic, but highly motivated and passionate about hospitality, food and beverage.    

 

Reports to: General Manager, Citi Field

Core Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of the Delta Club In-Seat Kitchen, specifically focusing on outstanding hospitality, excellence, and operational efficiency of a collection of menu items from our Union Square Events concepts.
  • Expediting daily service production to meet volume needs while focusing on quality control.
  • Organize and oversee daily prep and production for the In-Seat Kitchen.
  • Maintain quality control for all our concept products with a focus on consistency and strict adherence to production guidelines and expectations set by the Union Square Events culinary operations team.
  • Assure that all guests’ needs are met or exceeded throughout service.
  • Accommodate special orders for VIP guests.
  • Foster a productive working relationship between Union Square Events our brand partners and Aramark.
  • Lead, coach and train staff in prep, station set-up and execution of all products according to USE culinary team guidelines.
  • Uphold USE, DOH and Aramark sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the operations within Citi Field.
  • Collaborate with the USE sous chef in any game day production needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining invoices and inventory tracking while adhering to Union Square Events and Aramark accounting procedures.
  • Ensure that our company’s four family values of Excellence, Hospitality, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Integrity are reflected in the location’s culture, both on service and off.
  • Be a constant representative of Union Square Events at Citi Field to ensure that performance is up to company standards.
  • Attend USHG continuing education management classes to ensure professional and cultural education.







Skills/Requirements

Relevant Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Operating knowledge of high volume, fast casual food service operations
  • Food expediting experience in a high volume restaurant
  • Ability to problem solve, think quickly and communicate with employees, guests, clients, and business partners
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills required to order product, schedule employees and conduct monthly inventory
  • Staff management of 15+

Education/Experience:

  • 1 year minimum in food service management required
  • Degree in hospitality a plus

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to walk long distances and be on your feet for a majority of your work day
  • Lifting requirements range from 10-50lbs
  • Must be able to stand, reach with arms and hands, bend and stoop, kneel and crouch more than 50% of the time
  • Ability to push carts loaded with as much as 200lbs

Certification:

  • NYC DOH Food Handlers Certificate

Language:

  • English
  • Spanish (preferred)
