Receive and Store all food, beverage, and disposable products

  • Responsible for receiving, accepting or rejecting, and stocking of all food, beverage and disposable deliveries
  • Submits suppliers’ invoices to the Purchasing and Compliance Manager.
  • Assist in the maintaining of the waste, receiving, and shorts/returns logs
  • Accountable for the overall quality of all food items delivered to the kitchen
  • Receive products accurately; spot temping and weighing upon receipt
  • Stock the commissary storage spaces according to FIFO

Kitchen Cleanliness and Organization

  • Assists in maintaining organization and cleanliness of the storage areas for kitchen supplies, including food items, paper goods, dry goods, and equipment, and the general orderliness of the walk-ins, kitchen, basement, loading dock, and designated storage areas
  • Exercise quality control procedures and communicate any issues with management
  • Ensure FIFO is being maintained in all storage areas
  • Adhere to all USHG procedures as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance and conduct
  • Complete all assigned job requirements accurately and on time
  • Remain current and compliant with HR practices and policies
  • Work within the guidelines to ensure DOH and HACCP compliance as it pertains to the operation

Invoices and Inventory

  • Assists in taking counts for the monthly inventory
  • Cross check all invoices against daily Receiving Report to make sure correct items are delivered in correct quantity
  • Assist in maintenance of short/returns log, notifying direct management when delivered items are shorted or need to be returned

Ideally, You Also Have:

  • Basic Computer Skills ( Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, CaterXpert preferred)
  • NYC Food Handler’s Certificate
  • 1+ years of experience in receiving preferred
  • Working knowledge of food ingredients

*Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the kitchen, including food and beverage areas. 

*Requires mobility, prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
