Make a meaningful impact as a Polisher at Cafe 2 and Terrace 5!

Founded by CEO Danny Meyer with the opening of Union Square Cafe in 1985, Union Square Hospitality Group has created some of New York’s most beloved restaurants, cafes, and bars such as Gramercy Tavern, Maialino, The Modern, Marta and Porchlight to name a few!

The polisher offers support to the service team by providing the team with polished silverware and glassware.  The polisher may also assist in service by clearing tables, sweeping the dining room, and organizing the service stations.  This support is crucial to the smooth flow of service, allowing servers and server assistants to spend more time with their guests.  Polishers must exemplify Enlightened Hospitality in all interactions with our staff, guests, vendors and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Polish all glassware and silverware
  • Communicates all FOH needs to dishwashers to help dish team prioritize focus
  • Folds linen for silverware
  • Prepares silverware roll-ups throughout service
  • Restocks glassware to the service bar station
  • Helps maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room
  • Reliably completes all assigned side work

Requirements and Skills:

  • Excellent Communicator – ability to understand, speak & follow written and verbal instruction in English
  • Excels in a team environment and is viewed as a team player by all stakeholders
  • Displays friendly, welcoming attitude
  • Maintains open communication with management
