Job Description

 

Union Square Events is seeking a Culinary Coordinator to join the team at the Conrad NY!

This role will support the Executive Chef and Banquet team at the Conrad by aligning  all menu items for onsite events. We're looking for someone with great attention to detail and passionate about food and guest experience to ensure successful events. 

 

CORE TASKS and KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Banquet Event Orders, including data entry of menus in CaterXpert.

  • Review Daily BEO Distributions, 14-Day Reports and Crystal Reports for new events and input all functions in CaterXpert.
  • Ensure that function details are accurate, executable and up to USE standards.
  • Communicate changes to menu items, guaranteed guest counts, or timing to USE Kitchen and update in CaterXpert.
  • Immediately review any pop-up events (not originally included in the weekly distribution), menu changes or non-standard items with the Banquet Culinary Team and alert USE Kitchen to additions and changes in CaterXpert by utilizing the USE BOH e-mail group.

 

Ensure high performance and profitability of USE by providing administrative support to the USE Banquets Team.

  • Provide Executive Chef, Kitchen and Banquet office with administrative support and office supply maintenance.
  • Maintain Culinary Banquet Event Guide ensuring all change log edits and manager notes are up-to-date.
  • Provide food labels and signage for meal periods
  • Attend Tri-Weekly BEO meeting with Catering and Events team
  • Assist with special projects at the discretion of the Executive Chef

 

Other Qualifications

Technical:

Strong Computer Skills ( Microsoft Office, Delphi, CaterXpert preferred)

Language:

English

Spanish (preferred)

Experience:

3+ years in a catering driven administrative support position or similar applicable experience.

 

Certifications:

Bachelor Degree or Equivalent Experience

Work Environment:

Must be able to maneuver all areas of the banquet spaces, including food and beverage areas. Requires mobility, prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Ability to lift 40lbs comfortably.
