The Director, Content Partnerships & Acquisitions is responsible for the prospecting, negotiation, onboarding and ongoing management of content partners and licensors within the Skillsoft product offering.  The role works in close collaboration with the content product organization to help define the product collection roadmap for Skillsoft and then secures new providers to address these content needs.  The role includes prospecting with vertically focused learning providers, as well as functional training providers to fill the associated content needs.  The role includes negotiating the business terms with the providers and firming agreements with support from Skillsoft legal team.  The role includes the operational management of the partners, holding them accountable for product quality and delivery, proactively managing their performance so that the end product is of the highest quality.  Finally, the role works collaboratively with the platform engineering, content production, and product marketing teams to effectively integrate the content deliverables within the Company’s various learning platforms and bring new products to market.

Opportunity Highlights: 

  • Present and position company to prospective content partners and articulate the benefits of distributing their content through Skillsoft
  • Negotiate business terms and royalty rates with prospective content partners in collaboration with Content, Legal, Procurement and Finance leadership teams
  • Onboard new providers into the product and partner ecosystem.  Set and manage expectations for product delivery and quality
  • Work with Content Production team to establish product delivery schedule for respective partners
  • Collaborate with broader Content team on product vision and roadmap 
  • Work with internal legal team to finalize agreements and contractual language with content providers
  • Collaborate with the Product Marketing on go-to-market activities

    Skills & Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 7-10 years’ experience in content acquisition, licensing and partner management
  • 7-10 years’ experience in an outbound business development role with a proven track record of bringing new relationships onboard 
  • Proven experience with the e-learning space strongly desired
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex business scenarios with minimal support and intervention
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
