Employee Services Coordinator

to join our team!

 

Founded by CEO Danny Meyer with the opening of Union Square Cafe in 1985, Union Square Hospitality Group has created some of New York’s most beloved restaurants, cafes, and bars such as Gramercy Tavern, Maialino, The Modern, Marta and Porchlight to name a few!

With guidance and supervision, the Employee Services Coordinator is responsible for assuring that our employees are set up for success at all points in the employee life cycle. The Employee Services component assures that all employees move through our talent management systems fluidly while onboarding and orienting to our work environment and culture with confidence and a full toolbox. Once working, this incumbent will assure that employees have access to any and all information and resources they need to benefit their work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all Employees have a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience

  • Successfully on-board all new hires by ensuring that all employees complete and understand new hire paperwork, practices, and policies before they begin initial training
  • Ensure employees sign up for and attend New Hire Orientation at the Home Office
  • Ensure employees remain informed of benefits-related activities, meetings and offerings
  • Ensure the proper paperwork is processed for successful employee transfer/termination
  • Create and host onsite orientation for each restaurant that accurately represents their image, culture and house guidelines

HR Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure that all employees accurately understand schedule guidelines, time and attendance guidelines, expectations pertaining to written schedule/scheduling switches & effective use of Ultimate Time & Attendance 
  • Daily management of Time & Attendance software, with a strong focus on auditing hours and resolving any discrepancies, documenting adjusted punches, and supporting front line managers to confirm employee authorization of  punch adjustments
  • Ensure PTO is coded to UTA on time
  • Scan and maintain all employee files
  • Support with worker's compensation process

On-Line Applicant Tracking and Talent Management Liaison

  • Maintain external posts by partnering with Recruiting Team
  • Screens candidates for hire for Family Values before advancement in interview process
  • Coordinates phone and in-person interviews and trails with applicants and managers

Ideally, You Also Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Initiative & follow through
  • Excellent verbal & written communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
  • At least one year experience in hospitality/food/restaurant related industry
  • Preferred knowledge/experience in office administration
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus!
