Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking a Compliance Manager of Permits & Licensing to join the team!

 

The Compliance Manager is responsible for all tasks related to the processing and maintenance of all city, state and federal permits and licenses and all facility related contracts.  Specific tasks include the preparation and filing of permit applications and renewals, status tracking, as well as the systematic record keeping of company-wide permits and contracts.  In addition, the Compliance Manager will assist in ensuring all compliance standards are maintained throughout all business units.

Key Responsibilities:

Support in property & business-related licensure & compliance with all Federal, State, and City agencies
  • Community Boards, Dept of Buildings, Dept of Consumer Affairs, Dept of Environmental Protection, Dept of Health and Mental Hygiene, Dept of Transportation, Environmental Control Board, Fire Dept, landlord permissions, State Liquor Authority
  • File new permits and renewals
  • Track and review status of all submitted permits and licenses
  • Assist in sourcing and managing external permit expediters
  • Complete all applications necessary for DOH, SLA, and other City and State Agencies
  • Maintain status information and renewal dates for all operating licenses
  • Troubleshoot issues with operating licenses as requested by operations staff

Work closely with businesses to maintain facilities and compliance records and standards

  • Maintain and file all vendor quotes for facilities and construction projects based on emergency needed repairs and/or the needs of the business
  • Track and update all records related to company-wide vendor rebates
  • Support in the management and maintenance of all compliance and facilities related record keeping
  • Assist with the bid process and timing of capital projects as it pertains to licensing and approval of plans
  • Support in the upkeep of the workplace safety manual as needed

Experience:

  • NYC Food Protection Certificate
  • Understanding of Health Code, Building Code, Fire Code, HACCP and food safety
  • Broad knowledge of City licensing agencies
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Basic Mechanical Skills (knowledge of construction equipment function and use)
  • Familiarity of trade specific terminology
  • Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Also includes travelling from site to site and possible lifting and moving objects of 50lbs or more.
