Job Description

 

Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking an Events Supervisor to join the team at Untitled and Studio Cafe located in the Whitney Museum!

 

The Events Supervisor will collaborate directly with the Catering and Events Coordinator to lead and manage all facets of internal catering event operations at Whit Food, including Untitled, Studio Cafe, and the Whitney Museum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Catering and Events Coordinator to act as a point person for client, vendors, and USHG staff
  • Staging food, beverages, disposables, equipment, etc. for all internal catering events
  • Coordinate event set-ups, execute events in various front of house roles, and manage load-outs (when necessary)
  • Ensure that internal catering events are accurately rung into Micros on the day of the event

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of operations/culinary experience in hospitality & fine dining
  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge
  • Multi-tasking
  • Problem solving & delegation
  • Initiative & follow through
  • Excellent verbal & written communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
  • Excellent understanding of USHG culture/philosophy
  • Proficient in restaurant POS systems (Avero/Micros etc.) and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent facilities operations knowledge
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Open availability 
  • English required
  • Spanish and French are useful

 

Education/Certifications

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or certification in hospitality-related field or equivalent expertise gained from time on the job
  • TIPS certification
  • NYC Food Handling Certificate
  • CPR/1st Aid Certified
