Job Description
Skillsoft is currently seeking a Principal Program Manager for our Business Applications department. This individual will support the various groups within the department managing medium to large projects. The groups that will be the focus for this role are the CRM team which supports our Salesforce implementation, our Custom Applications group that develops .Net applications in support of various business functions and our PeopleSoft implementations for Finance and HR.

The Principal Program Manager is expected to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support the development process and ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. This requires an understanding of the business objectives and deliverables, scheduling resources and the detailed tasks associated with the entire project, from inception to project closure.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall Project Management of assigned projects throughout the planning, requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and installation phases, to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and according to system development processes and standards.
• Adhere to the current Business Applications change management process
• Help develop and enforce the application governance process for CRM, Finance and HR
• Develop and maintain project plans; lead medium to large-sized projects and/or sub-projects to coordinate completion of project deliverables
• Manage and track project risks, action items, issues, key decisions, and coordinate issue resolution. Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and facilitate regular project meetings, developing meeting agendas, minutes, and other appropriate materials.
• Collect and validate sign-offs on all project deliverables.
• Track status of all deliverables and requirements.
• Recognizes the need to escalate problems to a higher level.
Desired Skills and Experience

• Proven project management experience with full project life cycle.
• Must have experience working with supporting key business units (Finance, HR, Sales, Order Management).
• Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
• Ability to keep multiple projects with overlapping schedules on track.
• Focused and assertive with strong customer service orientation.
• Curious, goal oriented, highly self-motivated and directed.
• Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; Able to effectively lead discussions.
• Ability to successfully manage a project that involves the participation from various development teams as well as various business areas.
• Solid understanding of technology and technological interdependencies.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Must know standard MS Office Suite including Project, Visio and Excel.
• Proven ability to lead small teams and coordinate to achieve business goals.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years IT experience; 3+ years proven project management experience with full project life cycle.
