The Modern and Cafes at MoMA are looking for an Assistant Stewarding Manager to join the team! 

With guidance and supervision from the Operations Manager, The Assistant Stewarding Manager is responsible for the excellence and efficient operations of the stewarding functions at Art Food. The Assistant Stewarding Manager oversees a team of 2 Supervisors and 30-40 Stewards.  The Assistant Stewarding Manager, assists the Operations Manager to create and implement best practices to ensure all general maintenance, stewarding, and equipment maintenance projects are fulfilled.  This position tasks the team with maintaining a clean, organized and safe work environment for all AF employees and operations. The Assistant Stewarding Manager will also be accountable for the responsibilities of the Supervisors while they are away from their respective units. Porter Supervisors must exemplify Enlightened Hospitality in all interactions with our staff, guests, vendors and the community and must have the ability to multitask, problem solve and support very complex operational needs.

 

Required Skills and Knowledge: 

  • 1-2 Years FOH/BOH Full Service/Catering experience
  • Ability to perform light maintenance repairs
  • Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve
  • Ability to organize and motivate self and staff
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and delegate
  • Strong verbal and oral communication skills
  • Computer knowledge/ Microsoft Office
  • Basic proficiency in Spanish
  • DOH Sanitation Certified
