The Cloud Application Specialist provides support for technical issues as they relate to technology found in a hosted server environment.
Assist with configuring, deploying, and /or administering customized eLearning solutions in a hosted environment.
Provide support for client specific issues including debugging customer sites to aid in problem resolution in a highly available environment to minimize interruption to customers.
Provide support for third-party vendors or clients working to integrate Skillsoft products with other software.
Will be required to independently research issues and generate innovative recommendations and/or solutions.
Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills are essential
Proficiency with Windows operating systems (Windows 7,10 Server 2008/2012)
Strong knowledge of Internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, web servers, proxy servers, firewalls, etc.)
A general understanding of LAN and Intranet configurations, traffic load and potential bottlenecks
Familiarity with SQL or other database query languages
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Outlook, Excel)
Significant experience troubleshooting hardware, software and configuration issues within a hosted web service environment
Experience with installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Internet Information Server
Experience working with VMware in a virtual hosted environment
Experience with basic Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012 administration and database connectivity (ODBC/JDBC)
Familiarity with the following would be considered an asset: Windows Server 2016, SQL Server 2017, Linux, Docker or other Container Technology
