Job Description

The Cloud Application Specialist provides support for technical issues as they relate to technology found in a server hosted environment.

 

Job Responsibilities

Assist with configuring, deploying, and /or administering customized eLearning solutions in a hosted environment.

Provide support for third-party vendors or clients working to integrate Skillsoft products with other software.

Will be required to independently research issues and generate innovative recommendations and/or solutions.

 

Job Requirements

 Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills are essential

Proficiency with Windows operating systems (Windows 2000/XP and NT Server 4.x/2000)

Strong knowledge of Internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, web servers, proxy servers, firewalls, etc.)

A general understanding of LAN and Intranet configurations, traffic load and potential bottlenecks

Familiarity with SQL or other database query languages

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Outlook, Excel)

Significant experience troubleshooting hardware, software and configuration issues within a web hosted environment.

Significant experience with installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Internet Information Server

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0/2000 and database connectivity (ODBC/JDBC)

Experience with Cold Fusion, JavaScript, ASP, and HTML in order to make and support modifications to existing products for client customization
