Job Description
We're looking to recruit a team of media specialists to keep Skillsoft ahead of the learning curve – in the products we create and how we produce them. We're seeking to build a team of creative individuals from various backgrounds and disciplines, whose unique perspectives and insights will collectively support the creation of engaging content and beautiful technology.

We want people with skills in video, audio, design, screenwriting, editing etc. People who can help us shape the digital learning space now and into the future. Not only doers, though doing is important, but thinkers and communicators who can conceptualize and articulate our vision to teams and partners worldwide. People with a passion for learning new things, critical and creative thinkers, adept at problem solving – innovators whose enthusiasm is infectious. People whose future excites them as much as it will us.

The broad range of requirements and competencies for the new media team are detailed below. It is not expected that every candidate will have expertise in all categories…yet.

Position Responsibilities

• Managing and advising partners, making sure all tools and processes deliver the best results for Skillsoft.
• Working with external studios and production houses worldwide, and internal teams, to ensure all requirements are met for live video shoots - scheduling, preparation, recording, and post-production. Performing strategic video reviews and providing actionable feedback to partners and internal stakeholders.
• Assessing and reviewing new and existing products to ensure ongoing improvements are made - improvements that are measurable in terms of timelines, edit numbers, review iterations, etc. Assessing, defining, and documenting production requirements for new and existing partners and products.
• Understanding technical aspects of video production and post-production. Knowledge of camera set ups, impacts of shooting on green screen, keying, compositing, etc. Experience using Adobe Premiere, After Effects etc.
• Supporting internal and external content development teams on all aspects of video production and review, including shoots, 2D animated and 3D animated videos. Working with partners to resolve issues throughout the development life-cycle from content planning through to release.
• Working with creatives to scope, define, and design creative solutions, 2D and 3D prototypes, and implementing creative solutions across design partners.
• Future proofing templates and processes to ensure they remain fit for purpose following initial publication, e.g. localization, and across disparate partners.
• Supervising audio recordings in our Dublin studio based on a deep understanding of audio standards, recording processes and equipment, and post-production standards.
• Defining and rolling out an onboarding process for new VO artists that record externally, including initial configuration and sign off of their recording set up/output, and ongoing strategic QA reviews of both new and existing VOs. Coaching VO artists and non-professional narrators in terms of the right tone, style, tempo, and pitch for the content they are working on.
• Defining and documenting best practices, including assembly of raw footage, archiving, graphic library management, etc.
• Providing training and guidelines to internal and external production teams.
• Collaborating with other media professionals on new and existing projects.
• Taking responsibility for decision-making and escalating issues where necessary.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Curious, creative thinker always seeking to improve tools, processes, outputs, etc.
• Future driven…interested in emerging technologies and potential implications for content production.
• A start-up mindset, comfortable in situations where tools, processes, and deliverables are not yet defined.
• Exceptional communication skills. Able to communicate, negotiate, and influence stakeholders – internal and external - at all levels. Equally comfortable communicating with peers and partners on site and globally.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter with evident enthusiasm for the role and positive "can do" attitude.
• Demonstrable intuition and understanding of what makes visual media work.
• Understands the impact of on screen text and graphics within video products.
• Experience with video studio-set up, equipment, and workings. Acting/directing experience a plus.
• Range or technical expertise, e.g.: video-editing software, such as Premiere Pro and After Effects; Adobe Animate, After Effects, Illustrator; motion graphic design and integration; 3D design and modelling; SoundForge; etc.
• Understanding of AV codecs, their functions, and uses.
• Script writing/editing skills.
• Proficiency in Office applications, esp. Word and Excel.
• The ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
• The ability to think in a creative, logical, and analytical manner
• Flexibility and constructive response to changing deadlines
• Good organizational and team-working skills.

Education and Certifications

Degree/Masters in a relevant discipline preferred, but not essential. Equal attention will be given to candidates with commensurate experience.
