Job Description

 

  We’re looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who will oversee the daily and culinary operations of the Union Square Event brands within Washington Nationals Ball Park.  This position is directly responsible for ensuring excellent service and hospitality for guests during each event.   This position reports into and works with the General Manager of the Nationals Ball Park to liaise between Levy and external partners. The Assistant Venue Manager is tasked with the responsibility of building a culture of Enlightened Hospitality, while ensuring the venue remains profitable and delivers on excellent product and service. This is a seasonal, high-volume food service position and our ideal candidate is not only enthusiastic, but highly motivated and passionate about hospitality, food and beverage.       

 

 

 





Skills/Requirements
  • Daily management for concessions and culinary preparation, production and execution of the Union Square Events concepts that include, Shake Shack, Blue Smoke, Box Frites and El Verano. 
  • Expediting daily service production to meet volume needs while focusing on quality control.
  • Organize and oversee daily prep and production.
  • Maintain quality control for all concepts with a focus on consistency and strict adherence to production guidelines and expectations set by the Union Square Events culinary operations team.
  • Work with the culinary team and supervisors of each concept on game days to prep, set-up stations and execute all products according to USE culinary team guidelines and standards.
  • Organize and oversee daily prep and production.
  • Ensure that our company’s four family values of Excellence, Hospitality, Entrepreneurial Spirit, and Integrity are reflected in the location’s culture, both on service and off.
  • Be a constant representative of our company at Nationals to ensure that performance is up to USE standards.
  • Inspire the staff to provide warm, caring, accommodating and knowledgeable service to all guests of the USHG Concession concepts.
  • Work alongside the general manager in leading a team of stand supervisors.
  • Responsible for maintaining invoices and inventory tracking.
  • Hold employees accountable for effectively completing their position’s specific job responsibilities according to USE’s service and hospitality standards.
  • Perform required routine administrative functions during service (POS system, comps, voids etc.)
  • Address employee concerns and problems through coaching and conflict resolution.
  • Schedule culinary team along with the General Manager while balancing the needs of the business along with controlling labor costs.
  • Oversee the on-site hourly culinary employees to ensure they are executing the standards of USE. 

 

Relevant Knowledge, Skills, & Ability:

  • Operating knowledge of high volume, fast casual food service operations
  • Ability to problem solve, think quickly and communicate with employees, guests, clients, and business partners
  • Proficiency in multiple POS platforms.
  • Staff management of 75+
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills required to schedule employees, input/receive invoices and conduct monthly inventory.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Outlook.

    Education/Experience:

  • 2+ years of concession management in a Sports & Entertainment environment.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in a kitchen environment.

 

 

Work Environment:

  • Lifting requirements range from 10 - 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and be on your feet for a majority of your work day
  • Must be able to stand, reach with arms and hands, bend and stoop, kneel and crouch more than 75% of the time
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days, late nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Food Handlers Certificate

    Language:

  • English
  • Spanish (preferred)
