Skillsoft is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Storage Administrator professional to install, maintain and monitor SAN related software and firmware for customized eLearning solutions.

 

Job Responsibilities

Installing, maintaining and monitoring storage area networks (SANs)

Installation and maintenance of SAN related software and firmware

Troubleshooting SAN performance and configuration issues

Storage allocation

I/O subsystem design

Perform daily checks and maintenance activities

Production of usage, trending and inventory reports relating to the SAN

Installation and monitoring of tape backup hardware and software

Maintenance of backups of SAN configuration information

Documentation of procedures

Install and check for security patches to SAN related system

Maintain and update SAN scripts

 

Job Requirements

Post-secondary education in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience

EMC Hardware: VMAX, VNX, DataDomain, Isilon, XtremeIO

EMC Software: ECC, Powerpath, Unisphere, SPA, SRDF, InsightIQ, XMS, OneFS, SNAPVX, SyncIQ

VMware ESXi 5.5, 6.5

Cisco Hardware: MDS, Nexus, Blade Technologies, UCS, S-series host

Cisco Software: Performance Manager, Fabric Manager, Device Manager

Quantum Hardware: Tape Libraries

Excellent understanding of ICDA technology, database clustering techniques, SAN, and capacity planning theory.

Advanced knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 operating systems.

Knowledge of Linux mainly centOS, and RHEL

Knowledge of Windows Clustering services.

Knowledge of windows scripting and programming languages.

Knowledge of Symantec Backup Software and Commvault Backup

Good knowledge of statistical analysis, numerical analysis, plotting and trending tools

Knowledge of enterprise systems performance monitoring and administration tools

Good understanding of Disaster Recovery and advanced data replication

Advanced level of desktop application skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio) with ability to learn new technologies and applications quickly as new application skills are required for the position

Familiarity with the back-end design and administration of computer-based training systems is required.
