Job Description

Position Overview:

The Industry & Customer Insights Senior Manager leads the Customer Insight Analyst and the Industry Principal team members. Acts as an evangelist for all things customer insights exploring cited curiosities and vulnerabilities within Skillsoft, SumTotal & Vodeclic for any aspect affecting renewals, new business & client engagement. Defines the vision and structure for the team’s engagement model and leverages capabilities to help the Organization proactively address vertical-specific tactics, movement in competitor presence and revenue-related activities. Collaborates with business leaders and cross-functional teams as a customer and team advocate to integrate client feedback and experience metrics into decisions on processes, products, and service offerings to improve client usability, satisfaction, and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads and defines the engagement model for the Industry Practice, guiding vision, deliverables and measurement
• Manages, with the coordination of the Analyst, the IVS Engagement process across the IVS Team.
• Monitors the performance of the Industry Practice (including tracking key customer activities entered into Salesforce to track Industry Principal engagements to sales outcomes)
• Guides the Analyst in delivering scalable insight-reporting systems and processes
• Provides counsel and strategic recommendations to sales and product leaders and helps ensure visibility of Industry Practice requests and impact
• Works with cross-functional teams to advance insights within the Organization and provide process and systems improvements
• Meets weekly with the VP, IVS in order to review pending priorities, reflect on individual and team accomplishments and how to overcome challenges
• Meets with sales leaders, regularly conducting reviews of regional sensitivities and trends
• Produces thought leadership (i.e., blogs, social posts, white papers, webinars, etc.) that contributes to a strong brand image and Skillsoft social media property followership
• Collaborates regularly and shares best practices and successes with extended IVS team; provides suggestions for continuous improvement
• Serves as a role model for what excellent performance and professionalism represents, acting as an inspiration and benchmark for the rest of the team

Qualifications:

• Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills across functions influencing decision-making, Company-wide
• Has self-directed work habits, exhibiting strong initiative, drive, creativity, maturity, self-assurance and fosters that with each team member
• Possesses an excellent understanding of Skillsoft and SumTotal content, technology and messaging
• Understands the dynamics of the industry vertical and possesses a solid understanding of the human capital space (especially as it relates to learning and talent fields)

• Demonstrates an exceptional level of internal and external customer responsiveness
• Maintains highly adept understanding of how Skillsoft and SumTotal solutions address the vertical and is capable to articulate their relevance to various customer stakeholder levels
• Provides excellent consulting, listening and communication skills, evidenced by the ability to establish influential relationships with diverse customers/prospects, including executive-level business owners
• Demonstrates positive attitude and professionalism, an ambassador for the Skillsoft & SumTotal brands
• Exhibits expert facilitation skills for meetings and group activities, both virtual and live, demonstrating the ability to guide groups, listen and question effectively (includes corporate/executive briefings)
• Possesses superior presentation skills, both virtual and live, in large and small group settings
• Has excellent written communication skills, demonstrates the ability to write with purpose and accuracy
• Maintains a high level of project management and can coach other team members on how to improve
• Is adept at critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills that balance thoughtful analysis with timely responsiveness
• Is adaptable to change as it relates to sales plan, Skillsoft and/or SumTotal product strategy, internal/external relationships and organizational direction
• Shows scheduling flexibility to effectively adapt to geographies that Skillsoft and SumTotal supports
• Exhibits teamwork skills and ability to act as a strategic partner to the client and account team
• Travels to internal meetings and customer sites as warranted (travel estimate 20-50%)

Education

Master’s Degree, Business Administration or Marketing preferred
