Under general instructions is responsible for installation, change-overs, lay-out and maintenance of plant mechanical equipment and structures.
Works from blueprints, diagrams, charts, sketches, and verbal instructions to plan, install, assemble, fabricate, lubricate, test, adjust, inspect, dismantle, make change-overs, repairs and maintains plant equipment, machinery and structures.
Responsible in general for the starting, stopping, and uninterrupted performance of all mechanical equipment throughout the working shift.
Responsible for specific pieces of equipment under preventive maintenance program.
Answers all trouble calls and makes repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
Does cutting, welding and brazing, as necessary.
Operates power trucks, and cranes when assistance in performance of job duties to make mechanical repairs and adjustments.
Know uses hand signals for boom and overhead traveling cranes.
Uses procedures for lockout/Tagout whenever applicable.
Help train lower-rated employees in the performance of their jobs.
Makes written report on Maintenance Work Sheet at end of each shift.
Keeps work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition and performs all work in accordance with plant and department rules.
Skills/Requirements
High School diploma/GED and must be able to weld.Three years previous experince as a Industrial Maintenance Mechanic working in a manufacturing environment.
