Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure safety and environmental compliance – conducting new hire & on-going routine safety training, ensuring all employees are following company safety & environmental policies and procedures, immediately correcting any safety or environmental issues, conducting safety self-audits, continuing education on safety through participation on monthly safety calls and working with safety manager.

Responsible for inventory accuracy and control.  This includes resolving inventory issues, ensuring receiving is accurate and exact, coordinating returned inventory for accurate accountability, leading inventory audits and reporting the same.

Foster a safety first culture through prioritizing safe working conditions above everything else, leading employee engagement in daily, weekly and monthly safety efforts.

Responsible for meeting the production schedule per the direction from the central location.  This includes assigning appropriate employees to projects, leading and guiding production efforts and ensuring products are in inventory to satisfy orders.  

Interface daily with central location leadership team to develop collaborative operation to ensure customer satisfaction and to provide updates regarding orders, issues, shipments, customer specifics  

Record, monitor and track production results for daily production reporting.

Responsible for shipping material per central location direction – daily communications regarding the management of shipping responsibilities; meeting deadlines and accuracy of orders/shipments prior to shipping.

Ensure Quality Standards are met by following company procedures. Inspect deliveries to prevent products that are inferior or unacceptable from leaving the facility.  Maintain quality standards by training employees, adapting to and implementing changes in quality procedures, maintaining expectations and standards, holding employees accountable for the same.

Ensure packaging of material is done in a safe fashion for delivery to customer.  Implement quality standards to prevent product damage in transit through packaging, overseeing shipping procedures and abiding by safety policies and procedures.

Develop employees through training.  Cross-train team to allow for versatility in scheduling, needed overtime, vacation coverages, and the demands needed to provide a variety of products.

Addressing equipment needs - maintain machinery by implementing a routine preventative maintenance and inspection process.  Equipment needs must be addressed immediately.   Engage employees to communicate equipment needs and maintain a log of all equipment maintenance and repairs.

Interface with customer base on occasion to include job site visits when required.  On occasion, may assist customers with order issues/resolution of issue to meet customer expectations

Travel for personal development and sales visits will be required for continued growth, synergy, communication and overall company and facility natural progression.

Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·        Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and staff in a fast paced shop environment

·        Strong analytical and problem solving skills are necessary

         Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels.

·        Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs

·        Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint applications

       ·        Strong knowledge of safety and environmental compliance 

 

Qualifications:

·        Must have at least 1-2 proven years of previous supervisory or management experience in a fast paced manufacturing or fabrication environment. 

·        Solid knowledge of processes involved in the manufacture of fabricated products, preferably with iron or steel, is a plus.

·        Previous experience motivating workforce through change management is desired.

Associates Degree or equivalent is desired
