JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE)

Position is responsible for shaping the user experience of our applications for our internal and external customers.   Expected to be skilled in having the ability to drive UX efforts.  The successful candidate will be able to bring life to the business’ vision through initial designs and be able to deliver those experiences as part of the end product. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS *

• Provide UX/UI solutions for all of our software applications
• Design user interfaces and interactivity for web, software, and mobile business applications.
• Create basic to high fidelity wireframes
• Create final UI designs
• Work closely with product managers, end-users, scrum masters, developers and QA.
• Deliver well-organized and optimized production assets from finely-tuned mock-ups
• Define and implement design solutions for new features and new products
• Work in a team oriented, exciting, challenging environment. 

MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability and willingness to multi-task in a high paced environment.
• Ability and willingness to complete tasks by deadlines

Skills/Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelors degree or higher
• 2-5 years experience designing user interfaces for business and consumer web / software applications 
• Expertise in analyzing and optimizing user workflows and tasks, and identify ways to simplify processes
• Advocate simple and intuitive UX / UI solutions
• Ability to efficiently create low fidelity wireframes and manage fast iterations thereof
• Advanced and current graphic / visual design skills for web / business applications. Ability to create final UI designs is highly desired
• Experience defining brand design concepts that are applied across multiple products 
• Ability to create HTML output from designs, HTML or Flash prototypes
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrated initiative and ownership, passion and enthusiasm for designing and implementing UI product solutions
• Aptitude for solving complex problems with innovative and elegant designs
• High commitment to collaboration and team achievement 
• Great communication skills 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in producing both UX and UI design work products, including: sitemaps, user workflow charts, low / high fidelity wireframes, refined / finalized graphic design mockups, specification documentation
• Experience with user testing exercises
• Experience working within the Education marketplace
• Experience working for a Business Process Outsourcer
• Experience managing technical resources
• Knowledge of the TMS product suite

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

• Proficient in CSS development
• Experience with Javascript, including jQuery
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash
• Experience with Axure RP Pro a plus
• Knowledge of and compliant with best practice standards for UX development
• Ability to present designs and ideas to small to large groups
• Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to work with others
• Proficiency in Word and Excel
