Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION
Position requires strong leadership skills, communications skills, project management skills and a technical background in IT Development or Support.  Candidate responsible for leading and coordinating resources to resolve reported issues in the Production environment, as well as implementing processes to prevent new issues from arising.  Candidate responsible for participating in the development of the long-term application vision.  Candidate must demonstrate a history of technical experience working with various enterprise applications.  Candidate responsible for providing roll-up reporting to senior management on the projects underway within their team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Candidate must be able to effectively manage a group of cross-functional technical resources ranging in experience from junior to senior levels.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS *
Strong organizational skills associated with leading individuals working on application-related projects, specifically including:

• Ability to effectively manage junior to senior level technical resources
• Ability to effectively resolve reported issues in the Production environment in a manner and timeline that ensures proper business continuity
• Ability to implement team-wide automated support strategies and paradigms
• Ability to train teammates in support best practices
• Ability to identify patterns in reported issues in order to develop solutions
• Ability to implement and contribute to team-wide process improvements
• Ability to effectively communicate status reports to senior management
• Strong experience working with development teams on the interaction of custom-developed software into major enterprise applications
• Strong experience working with the business units as part of a project team in identifying the most optimal applications to solve problems 
• Strong experience working with database technologies, especially SQL Server

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Occasionally assist in correcting issues to ensures proper business continuity
• Work with other managers to determine when solutions are Production-ready
• Participate in architectural decisions for company-wide strategies
• Ability to work with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity teams on the delivery and testing of fail-over capabilities of the application infrastructures
• Ability and willingness to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability and willingness to complete tasks by deadlines
• Work well with co-workers, supervisor(s), and external clients

 




Skills/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Preparation, Knowledge, Previous Experience:
• At least 5 year of Application Support, Development or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of experience with Relational Databases
• At least 2 years managing technical resources
Skills, Abilities, Competencies:
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in problem resolution 
• Ability to prioritize assignments for both individuals and teams
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Software Suite
• Ability to work well with others

Level of Education Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Higher

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Office environment working with a computer for extended periods of time
• To ensure proper business continuity, meet project deadlines or accommodate off-hour deployments, occasional evening and weekend work is required
